①恐ろしい, 危険な, 苦しみを与える

古川晴風編『ギリシャ語辞典』大学書林（1989）から一部抜粋
タイトルの「/deː.nós/」はギリシャ語δεινός（以下：デイノス）の発音を表す国際音声記号です。今回の取り組みでは、この単語を基点に社会や芸術、作品を作るということについての思考と実験を重ねてきました。もう少し具体的に言えば、それらについて、いかにデイノスとは違う考え方ができるかということに挑戦してきました。
ここまでを振り返ってみると、それは作品と作品、作品と日常、日常と日常とが、互いに栞を挟み合い、双方が読了されていない状態を肯定しようとする試みであった様に思います。
また今回は、特定の社会状況や政治問題を直接的に扱うことはしていません。しかし、あらゆる側面でデイノスな価値観を要請してくる現代社会において、そこに抵抗し、そことは別の何かを模索しようとする態度は、本質的に社会的で政治的なことであると感じています。
今ここに何がどの様に現れているのか、自分自身にも未知な部分が残されていますが、この取り組みを通して、曖昧な世界を曖昧なまま皆様と共有することができたら嬉しい限りです。
そして、ここで行われた前回の展覧会「Anonymous Orchestra, Op. 24」の作者であるDAVY CHANG氏に、私の思考対象の一つとして彼の痕跡を提供していただきました。そのことを快諾し、協力して下さった彼に感謝します。
最後になりますが、この取り組みを少しづつ進めていた最中、東欧で新たな軍事衝突が始まりました。自分自身に対する遣る瀬無さと、この様な時だからこそ今行っていることを少しづつでも動かしていこうとする意識との摩擦の中で、まずは、ここから逃げずに、それを着実に抱え込むことを自らに課す他ありません。

Harukaze, Furukawa “Girisha-go Jiten (Greek Dictionary) “ Daigaku syorin, 1989 (Translated from Japanese to English)
The title “/deː.nós/” is the spelling of the Greek word δεινός (hereafter: deinos) in the International Phonetic Alphabet. In this project, I took this word as the basis for to put together thoughts and experiments about society, art and the creation of artworks. To be more specific, I have tried to see how I can think about these things in a different way than deinos.
Looking back, it seems like it was an attempt to retain a situation, where both sides between a work and a work, a work and daily life or daily life and daily life haven’t been seen to the end by intertwining them with each other like bookmarks. Also, this time, I’m not dealing with any particular social situation or political issue. However, I feel that the attitude of resisting and seeking something different from the deinos values that are demanded by the contemporary society in every aspect, is essentially social and political.
What is here now and how it looks is still partly unknown even to me, but I am happy to share the ambiguity of this world with you through this project.
I would like to thank Mr. DAVY CHANG, the author of the last exhibition held here, “Anonymous Orchestra, Op. 24”, for offering traces of his work that served as one of my objects of inspiration. I would like to thank him for his willingness to do so and for his cooperation.
Last but not least, during all of this this work, a new military conflict broke out in Eastern Europe. In the midst of the friction between my own helplessness and my will to go on specifically during such a time with what I’m doing, even if it is only a little bit, I have no choice but to deal with the situation without running away from it.

歴史や現象の観察と、個人の知覚や経験とを接続し、今私たちが生きる社会についての思索を揺さぶる作品を制作している。映像や写真、行為などを用いたインスタレーションや、他者との協働によるアートプロジェクト等、状況に呼応しながら扱うメディアや手法を選択する。
近年の展覧会に「さいたま国際芸術祭2020 I can speakー想像の窓辺から、岬に立つことへ」旧大宮図書館（埼玉、2020）、「Another reality 」ナント高等美術学院（フランス、2018）、アートプロジェクト／インスタレーション／パフォーマンス「Red Hook Horror Lemonade」De Construkt（Maharu MAENO, Alexandra BANHAZLとの共作、ニューヨーク、2019）がある。その他、アートプロジェクト『ノントコヨ 非常世』フェスティバル/トーキョー 17（コンセプト・構成：ノントコヨのためのチーム、ドラマトゥルク：長島確、2017）等に参加。
